This kind of is actually a simple pulao which i made using barnyard / kuthiraivali..Very healthy along with pretty easy to make as well. I used barnyard millet because of This kind of, you can use varagu , samai or any millet as you like.

Cooking Time : 25 mins
Serves : 2 to 3



Ingredients:


Barnyard Millet / Kuthiraivali - 1 cup
Oil or Ghee - 2 tsp
Bay Leaf - 1
Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon / Pattai - 1 smaller piece
Cardamom / Yelakai - 1
Onion - 1 medium size sliced thinly
Green Chillies - 2 chopped
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tblspn
Mint Leaves - 1/4 cup chopped finely
Coriander Leaves - 1/4 cup chopped finely
Carrot - 1 medium size cubed
Beans - 5 chopped
Capsicum / Bell Peppers - 1/2 chopped
Salt to taste
Water - 1.5 cup


Method:


Wash millet truly well along with soak of which for 15 mins or so


Heat oil in a cooker. Add in all the whole spices along with let them sizzle.


Add in onions, chillies along with cook till golden. 


Add in ginger garlic paste along with saute for a min.


Add in carrots, beans along with capsicum along with saute for a min.


Add from the drained millet along with toss well from the oil...Add in water, salt along with mix well.


Cover along with simmer. Pressure cook on a very low heat for 10 mins. 


Turn off the heat along with let the steam go all by itself. Open the cooker along with fluff the rice.

Serve.
